Calling all K-6 Music Teachers! Join Anita Perlau, from the University of Alberta, for two great sessions all in one morning!

9:00- 10:30    Teaching Elementary Music Through Singing, Moving and Playing 

Being an excellent teacher means using many different practices to engage our diverse student population. In this highly participatory session, Anita will share activities that will enhance your students’ musical literacy through a variety of Kodály, Orff and Dalcroze practices.

10:45-12:15 - Developing Part Sing  Singing in harmony is a skill that begins in the primary grades with learning to hear one part and sing another. Through a developmental sequence of how to teach music in parts, Anita will share songs and activities to help your students develop their confidence and independence as singers.
